London saw the birth of remarkable institutions in the 18th century. Along with public concert halls and concert series the city saw the creation of public gardens that became the locale for dinners, art exhibits, and concerts. Here, Handel, J. C. Bach, Haydn performed to a besotted audience. The great singers offered the great crowds the popular arias of the day in the styles most au courant. Pascale Beaudin and Thomas Cooley sing works from Scot Songs and Handel's Oratorios joined by the entire ensemble.
