Quintet in C major, Franz Schubert

Schubert's C Major Quintet, written during his last days, filled with tragedy, transforms his pain into transcendent beauty. It may be his greatest work and among the most moving music of the 19th century. Louis Couperin also lived only 31 years gave us a hint of his potential in uniquely beautiful, rhapsodic, and lyrical harpsichord music. Last Words celebrates the genius of two composers who left us so much and left us too soon.
